Dominique Laurine
I, Dominique Laurine, am a Dutch artist, born in The Netherlands in 1992. Growing up with horses and Golden Retrievers close to the forest in Oisterwijk, I believe you could say that my art concept was actually already founded many years ago.
I’ve always been drawn to create monumental portraits, especially horses, hunting dogs and even African species for original paintings, inspired by the ‘old money’ countryside. Working primarily in large-scale compositions, detailed realism is balanced by even-coloured or colorblock-based backgrounds, allowing anatomy, presence and character to take center stage.
Most of my inspiration comes from classical animal painters, such as George Stubbs and Alfred Munnings, although I wanted my art to be more bright, modern and editorial than old fashion landscapes, as if you could run into my art when drinking coffee in a design bar in Milan. While my concept is rooted in tradition, my approach is deliberately contemporary, designed for high-end and refined interiors.
Since March 2026, I have also been working on an exclusive line of uniquely designed, limited edition prints, divided into various categories, each with its own theme, look, and feel: from nostalgic and romantic to modern and editorial, ensuring you always find a piece that perfectly fits your interior. The essence of quiet luxury is particularly prominent here, from the equestrian world to the tranquility of a country garden, which is reflected in the prints through warm color palettes, chic tones, and 'old money' or 'heritage' animal species. The feeling of (stilled) luxury is what remains central to my concept.
